Creating Tamanzi Taggs

Tamanzi is a brand-new floating home completed in May 2024. The former floating home (dating back to the 1980s) was demolished down to its hull in December 2023. Dredging of 40 years of silt on the lagoon floor as well as ballasting issues were corrected before a new timber structure was erected January 2024. The apex roof was covered with lightweight aluminium tiles and the flat roof sealed with fibreglass. The structure was subsequently made weatherproof (with breathable membrane and cladding), before the work in the internal rooms commenced. It was a steep learning curve for the host; however it was a fabulous adventure. Tamanzi as a short stay destination has delighted guests since June 2024.
